FIELDBUS ELECTRONICS & I/O

Life Science processes from fermentation to purification and filtration to end-of-line packaging often require a central control system to monitor and control fluid flow. All valves on the system can be connected electronically to form an integrated solution.

The control panel is equipped with embedded fieldbus and input/output valve manifolds for monitoring and complete flow and pressure control. An integrated LED display provides easy commissioning, visual status and diagnostics.

Proportional valves

Proportional control valves are used to vent gases from fermentation and to control fluid flow in other Life Science processes. Standard valves are set to either an on, off, or open positon and are not usually adjusted rapidly. Proportional valves are employed for quick adjustments to fluid flow, such as letting out a sudden burst of steam. They use springs and pistons that immediately adjust to pressure and can be controlled electronically. They can include visual/electrical indicators as well.

Pilot valves

Pilot valves   are critical to Life Science fluid systems since they allow human control of the overall pressure and flow. They work by directing the limited flow control feed to a second piloted valve. This enables a smaller and more easily operated valve to control higher pressure and flow of the overall system. Pilot valves provide the ability to manually and immediately turn the system's flow on or off.
