Rapid Engineered Solutions
Customized valve solutions to optimize your ventilator design and accelerate your speed to market.
Chronic respiratory diseases and a global aging population are leading to an increase in demand for ventilators. Emerson has the application expertise to develop custom fluid control solutions providing reliable and precise air and oxygen control. We work directly with your engineers on iterative design cycles, ensuring you meet the aggressive development timelines demanded by the market.
Our fluid control solutions have been proven in use on intensive care, emergency, and anesthesia ventilators.
Blending air, oxygen, and – in anesthesia devices – also nitrous oxide, requires a high level of precision and sensitivity. At the same time the gas blending device must be able to handle pressure variations.
Emerson offers a wide range of high precision proportional flow control valves that can work with many pressure variations. Our engineering teams can customize these products into a complete fluid control solution to meet your specific gas blending application requirements.
Ventilators work with extremely low and sensitive levels of pressure. They must periodically re-adjust the device to the accurate barometric conditions and altitude of the unit, by “re-zeroing” the sensor for the local atmosphere.
Emerson combines a broad miniature solenoid valve offering and engineering expertise enabling us to customize compact fluid control solutions that meet the typical auto-zero ventilator requirements.
“Positive-End Expiratory Pressure” (PEEP) is the control of residual pressure in the lungs after patient exhalation, in order to improve the oxygen transfer into the bloodstream.
Emerson offers a broad range of compact proportional flow control solutions to control the gas on PEEP devices. Our engineers will collaborate with you to design on a customized fluid control solution that is compact, compatible with both pneumatic and electronic systems and meets all other requirements of the application.
Ventilator devices may require other functions, such as pressure relief, inclusion of additives, valve isolation and shutoff. It is important that the gas control solutions can interface with pneumatic and electronic controls, have a small footprint, and meet various mounting configurations.
When working through our Rapid Engineered Solutions program, our engineers will quickly customize a compact fluid control solution for you that can interface with your customers electronics.
Ventilator OEMs are turning to suppliers with application knowledge, comfortability with market regulations, technical expertise, and proven solutions to limit the time of development. Emerson is able to offer all of this with its engineering expertise and global clean room manufacturing spaces. From delivering samples quickly to designing a solution to suit the sophisticated needs of ventilation technology, you can count on our team to get the job done for your next device!
